Branch Manager – Construction Merchant
Location: East Sussex
Salary: £55,000 per annum
Full Time | Permanent
An established and highly respected independent merchant is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to take responsibility for a successful and customer-focused branch in the Heathfield area.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Branch Manager, Assistant Branch Manager or Supervisor within the merchanting sector who is looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role in driving branch performance, customer satisfaction and team development.
The Opportunity
This position offers the chance to lead an established branch operation, supported by a wider group with a strong reputation within the building materials sector. You'll have the autonomy to influence branch success while working within a business that values customer service, employee development and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Overseeing the day-to-day management and performance of the branch
• Leading, coaching and developing a team to achieve business objectives
• Driving sales growth, profitability and margin performance across the branch
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with both trade and retail customers
• Delivering exceptional levels of customer service and operational efficiency
• Ensuring health & safety procedures and company standards are maintained at all times
• Identifying opportunities to improve branch performance and customer experience
• Managing stock, resources and branch operations to maximise profitability
• Leading, coaching and developing a team to achieve business objectives

What We're Looking For
• Previous management or supervisory experience within a builders', plumbing or heating merchant environment
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a successful team

• A passion for delivering outstanding customer service
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
